High-Value Consumer Disputes

We handle selected consumer matters involving significant value, including defective products, breach of warranty, fraud, and disputes over high-value purchases. A common scenario: you buy an expensive vehicle, equipment, or asset and it arrives damaged, defective, or substantially different than what was promised. The seller or manufacturer drags out the process, hoping you will give up. We help clients pursue these claims through negotiation, litigation, or arbitration where appropriate.

Appellate Work

Appellate work is part of our practice, though not the largest part. Attorney Kinzy has handled one matter before the Texas Court of Appeals, several matters before the Illinois Courts of Appeals, and a handful of matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The bulk of our appellate work has been in immigration: dozens of appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and a handful of matters before the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO). Appellate practice requires different skills from trial practice: careful record analysis, sharp legal writing, and oral argument tailored to a panel of judges rather than a jury. We are selective about the appeals we take on and candid about the strength of any case before agreeing to brief it.

Cross-Border and International Litigation

Commercial disputes involving foreign parties, foreign-owned U.S. businesses, or cross-border contracts present unique challenges: choice of law, service of process abroad, enforcement of judgments, and language and cultural differences. Our multilingual capability (English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu) and experience with international clients positions us to handle these matters effectively, often in coordination with foreign counsel.
