For Referring Attorneys

We welcome referrals and co-counsel arrangements from attorneys who have run into a conflict, an overflow, or a matter outside their practice. For more than 20 years we have taken the immigration, estate, probate, and business pieces that generalists and litigators prefer to refer out — and we treat the referring relationship as one to protect, not to capture.

How We Work With Referring Counsel

We stay in our lane. We handle the discrete matter you send us and refer back to you for anything outside it. We are not looking to expand the engagement or become your client’s general counsel.

Your client comes back to you. When the immigration or estate matter is resolved, the relationship returns to you. We say this in writing at the outset so there is no ambiguity.

You stay informed. You receive the level of communication you want — from a quiet hand-off to regular status updates and copies of filings — so you are never surprised by your own client.

Co-counsel where it helps. On criminal-immigration matters and cross-border business deals we routinely co-counsel, handling the immigration analysis alongside your representation rather than taking it over.

What We Take

Immigration (family, investor and business visas, naturalization, asylum and humanitarian relief, removal defense, and BIA / federal appeals); estate planning, asset protection, and Texas probate; and business and international matters for foreign-owned companies. If it sits in one of those lanes — including the cases other firms decline because the history is complicated — send it our way and we will give you an honest read.

Fee Arrangements

We handle referral fees in accordance with the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, with the client’s informed written consent and any required division of fees documented. Tell us how you prefer to structure it and we will paper it correctly.
